Three Ways To Boost Your Fuel Economy

Have you ever heard anyone say how much the love their low fuel economy? No, generally you only hear how awesome it is to not spend as much on gas because they get such good fuel economy. But there are things that everyone can do to boost their fuel economy. Here are three tips that can help you get the most out of each mile per gallon no matter what car, truck or SUV you drive.

  • 1.) Remove excess weight. If it is summer and you no longer need that ski rack or Thule on your car. Take it off. It is weighing down your car causing you to use more gas to get around and is also making your car less aerodynamic.
  • 2.) Routinely get your vehicle serviced. Getting your vehicle's oil changed regularly helps your engine run more efficiently which will boost your fuel economy. And it will also keep your car running smoothly.
  • 3.) Use your cruise control as much as possible! Cruise control is a great tool that is often underutilized. But keeping the car at a constant speed can boost your fuel economy quite a bit. It takes more gas to speed up and slow down than keeping the same speed when driving on the highway.
